The festive season kicks off in Fairfield

Now that Mayor Frank Carbone has switched on the Christmas tree lights in Epoch Plaza, it means that the festive season has well and truly gotten underway in Fairfield and there will be plenty of activities from now until the New Year for Fairfield families to enjoy.

Local families can look forward to seeing Santa Claus from next Friday, December 11, at Canley Vale between noon and 2pm.

On the same day there will also be a Children’s Christmas Party at Canley Heights, proudly supported by the Canley Heights Business Community and Canley Heights Restaurant Committee. This event is a community favourite that always drawn crowds in previous years so don’t miss out and take the kids along from 3pm, with events expected to run until 7pm.

If you miss the Canley Heights Children’s Christmas Party then you can catch the carols at Horsley Park Reserve on Saturday, December 12, and special Christmas storytimes with ‘Elvis the Elf Downunder’ making a performance Fairfield libraries, as well as Christmas craft and babytime sessions.

And of course the big finale for the festive season will be the fireworks at Illuminate on New Year’s Eve, which will be seen at 11 sites across Fairfield at 9pm.

It’s going to be a huge month in Fairfield and we hope that everyone gets to enjoy a bit of festive fun.
