Spring has well and truly sprung in Fairfield, meaning it’s time to get outdoors and make the most of the warmer weather.
If, like many, you’re looking to get fit this spring then you might like to take advantage of the council’s free ‘Gyms in Parks’ program.
The next program will be starting mid October, and run for 6 weeks at Emerson Street Reserve. Trained fitness instructors will teach participants how to use the park equipment safely and effectively.
Participants will be shown simple effective exercises they can do by themselves, even after the program ends, and be provided with tips on how to keep healthy and active.
It’s hoped that the sessions will help inspire locals to continue exercising in the region’s local parks long after the program has finished.
The classes are sure to offer a great way to get fit for those living in the Fairfield area, and they provide an opportunity to meet other likeminded people who are looking to shape up and live a healthy lifestyle.
Gyms in Parks’ sessions will be conducted from Tuesday 13 October to Thursday 19 November every Tuesday and Thursday for six weeks at Emerson Street Reserve from 9.15am to 11am.
Get in touch with the Fairfield Council on 02 97254249 to find out more about the program.
