Where to take Fairfield kids these summer holidays

Christmas and New Year celebrations might have finished for another year, but there are still a few weeks of holidays left for all of the kids in Fairfield.

If your kids are starting to get restless and you’re wondering what activities they can get up to throughout January, then check out the range of activities taking place at the Fairfield City Museum and Gallery this summer. There are even some projects for the kids that love properties as much as we do.

Ceramic Miniature Houses

Thursday 12 January & Thursday 19 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Students will make miniature houses using lab techniques.

Arty Architecture

Friday 13 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Create an individual building structure using toothpicks and colourful jelly lollies.

Oodles of Noodles Sculpture

Tuesday 17 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Create a gravity defying pop art sculpture inspired by the Japanese art of Shokuhin sampuru (fake food models).

Age: 6-12 years

Fireworks Pinata

Wednesday 18 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Create a simple version of a piñata in the shape of a firework.

Age: 8-12 years

You Can Make a Book

Wednesday 18 January – 1.00pm–2.30pm

Create your very own wild picture book.

Age: 7-12 years

Fantastic City

Thursday 19 January – 1.00pm–2.30pm

Make a city come to life using collage and cardboard to construct the city of your dreams.

Age: 7-12 years

Pizza Party Costume

Friday 20 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Using collage materials you will be guided on how to create various pizza toppings for a customised pizza costume and hat.

Age: 8-12 years

Bright Stars

Tuesday 24 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Design and create beautiful 3D star sculptures to hang up.

Age: 7-12 years

Crazy Monsters, Gone Wild

Wednesday 25 January – 10.30am–12.00pm

Make wild monsters.

Age: 7-12 years
